Description
Miles Davis “Kind of Blue” Columbia Records Promo 1st edition (1959).
Due to the rarity of this issue, I wanted to point out the defining elements of it:
-
Side B track mis-order incorrectly listing “Flamenco Sketches” 1st - “All Blues” is the 1st track. (this was corrected in 1959)
-
6-Eye Columbia white Promo label
-
The stamped “4” printed on the back cover indicated it was printed by Imperial Packing Co., Inc.
-
“Adderly” misprint on front & back covers
The record grading is Very Good (VG). Most of it is VG+. Some light crackling underlying on the “mis-ordered” Flamenco Sketches track 2 along with a couple of pops made me downgrade the rating. The music comes through very clearly & bright with superb fidelity as evidenced on these early 1st pressing Promo copies. There are no scratches nor skips. Visually, it’s a very clean record. The following is on the runout groove:
-
Side A): (stamped) XLP47324-1G
-
Side B): (stamped) XLP47325-1D
The outer case is Very Good Plus (VG+) with a handwritten name at the top of the back cover along with a tiny tear on the printed overlay. The top seam has some wear/dings and the spine has ~1” portion in the middle where the paper has eroded. The bottom seam is in EX condition. The front & back covers are, overall, clean and devoid of any age wear. There are no splits. This is a well preserved copy. (all reflected in the photos) All sales final.
NOTE: This album will ship with the inner sleeve & record OUTSIDE of the cover as to prevent any possible seam damage to the cover during shipment. Both the album cover and the inner sleeve & vinyl will be contained within a plastic protective sleeve inside of the shipping box with padding on top & bottom. This item will also be insured for the full sale value at my cost.
