Description
This is Columbia Records CL 949, Miles Davis Round About Midnight, a red and black, 6 eye, deep groove label, original mono issue of this classic record with 1A/1A stamped on the dead wax. The record is not only an original issue but a 1st pressing as well. This is extremely rare. The record is in VG+(+) condition, (a strong VG+) showing light marks on both sides. The record plays quietly except for an occasional random pop and light background crackle in some quiet spots and sometimes between tracks. There are no skips or distortion, and nothing to interfere with the enjoyment of the music. The original cover has a 1" piece of clear tape on the upper seam and some age spots on the back but is otherwise excellent and intact. The labels are excellent and show only light spindle marks. An original inner sleeve is included.. This is a fine collector's grade copy of this rare first pressing. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12.
