Description
Miles Davis “Workin’ with The Miles Davis Quintet” Prestige Records 1960 1st pressing with the Bergenfield NJ address on the label and the “dime sized”,21mm indentation surrounding the B side spindle indicating an Abbey Mfg pressing (# PRLP 7166 mono) in a laminate cardboard sleeve. The record grading is Very Good Plus (VG+) with some light “hiss” associated with the 1st Abbey pressings. On Side 1/track 2 there is a 15 second light tick towards the end. On Side 2/tr 1 there is a light 10 second tick during the piano solo due to a slight scratch. Otherwise, there are no visible scratches on the album. Overall, Side 2 borders on Excellent.. The following is on the runout grooves:
-
Side A): (etched) PRLP 7166 A’ (stamped) RVG
-
Side B): (etched) PRLP 7166 B’ (stamped) RVG
The outer case is Excellent (EX) with a thin 3” abrasion to the bottom left side along the spine on the front cover. There are 2 very small dings to each of the top & bottom corners of the spine and a couple of small dings on the bottom part of the spine. The front and back covers are remarkably clean with the front laminate still glossy with only ever so slight peeling along a few areas of the right-hand side. There are no splits. (all reflected in the photos). All sales final.
04/14/2024 - I was recently able to use a professional vinyl cleaner/washer which significantly improved the cleanliness & quality of the playback on this record. Although I would still grade it "VG+", the overall quality of the playback has improved with minimal surface noise. I have also added 2 photos showing the newly cleaned vinyl.
