Miles Davis YOUNG MAN WITH A HORN 10" Blue Note "Modern Jazz Series" Blue Note LP 5013.
This the 1952 extremely rare, deep-groove, Frame Cover, Mono 10" Vinyl of Miles Davis' YOUNG MAN WITH A HORN "Modern Jazz Series" on the Blue Note Records 767 Lexington Ave NYC labels of BLP 5013. "P" or "ear," and "9M" in Deadwax. Musicians include "Jay Jay Johnson," Jackie McLean, Gil Coggins, Oscar Pettiford, and Kenny Clarke.
Disc plays with occasional light pops and ticks and consistent, but light surface noise. As with all Lexington to New York Blue Note pressings, surface defects do not detract from the beautifully played, engineered, and pressed recording. Instruments are clean and full of tone with no distortion. No skips. Disc has excellent gloss, with a few hairline marks but no feelable scratches. Labels clean. Frame cover is in largely excellent condition. 1" split top right. Spine wear but no split. Back jacket in very good condition.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers (with very revealing ribbon tweeters). Record cleaned on VPI 16.5.
