A beautiful copy of this impossible to find independent release by the legendary and elusive drummer Milford Graves. This is the '70s re-pressing of this incendiary concert presented at Yale University on 4/30/66 with pianist Don Pullen. The music is intense, abstract free jazz with an earthy, organic percussive timbre. Graves is legendary for his work with saxophonists Albert Ayler and Peter Brotzmann as well as his various recordings on the ESP-Disk label (New York Art Quartet, Guiseppi Logan, etc.) and his limited distribution releases on his own SRP label. This is one of the finest documents of Graves finely articulated energy assault approach to percussion available.

His drumkit is home-made and he rarely performs outside of his neighborhood. When he does perform he plays his kit like no other. This record was purchased new and still sealed in 1994. It has been played about 10 times ever and handled and stored with care in my collection. I would consider both the cover and album to be in very good condition.

The cover is crisp and has only the faintest hint of ring wear. The bottom right front cover corner has a slight corner bend. Other than these signs of minor wear, I suppose it would be considered near mint.

The vinyl is clean and plays quietly with very little noise. It has some extremely light scuffs that do not effect the play of the disk.
