Description
RARE SCORPIONS MISPRINT :: Picture 7" featuring Madness You are bidding on an incredibly rare Scorpions 7" picture disc. What makes this 1982 Harvest pressing so extraordinary is that both sides feature not the music of the Australian band Scorpions, but rather the music of U.K. ska band Madness.
The A side, which is supposed to be Scorpions's "No One Like You" is actually Madness's "House of Fun". B side, supposedly Scorpions's "Now!" is actually Madness's "Don't Look Back".
Scorpions were on the Harvest label and Madness was on Stiff Records at this time but clearly both albums were sent to the same picture disc manufacturing plant to be given treatment in 1982 and a very limited run of Scorpions discs were imprinted with the Madness tracks intended for P BUY 146 (http://www.discogs.com/Madness-House-Of-Fun/release/477792). I have scoured the internet for anyone else reporting this same misprint and have been unable to find any published mention of it. I cannot guess as to how many copies of this misprint exist but it is potentially one-of-a-kind!
The picture disc is free from any scratches. It plays very well with a slight amount of surface noise, which is common for all picture discs from this era (they've finally cleaned them up quite a bit in recent years). The clear plastic sleeve in which it is housed has no splits at the sides, quite rare in itself.
