Description

"Turnabout," by Mitch 'n Hodd, released on Sound Patterns in the U.S. in 1972. Utterly unknown and essential soft pop lounge perfection by Ontario duo, recorded across the border and released in Michigan, where they played a local Holiday Inn. The duo play everything, and every track oozes class and panache, with yearning vocals and expert arrangements. It's shocking how overlooked this is, but it's extremely rare, likely pressed in very small numbers. This easily ranks with other Canadian soft pop classics by Stephanie Taylor, Judy Singh, and Doug Randle, but is distinguished by a warmer, more lo-fi sound that makes it even better in my opinion. Highest recommendation. 12 tracks, 11 of them originals. Very few known copies. Please check my other auctions for other Canadian rarities offered this week. Vinyl in excellent condition. Cover with some edgewear, mild ringwear, bottom right tip mildly fraying, two small taped sections to seams. Please note that my scanner cannot capture the entire breadth and width of the record cover.

Please wait to be contacted by email after auction ends before making payment. Buyer to pay for record plus shipping cost with credit card through Paypal. MA residents please add 6.25% for sales tax.
