I am offering for sale my superb copy of the MFSL UHQR number 1-510, The Planets by Gustav Holst performed by Sir Georg Solti and the London Symphony Orchestra. This stunning performance of The Planets was recorded in 1979 and released by JVC as one of their Ultra High Quality Records (UHQR) in 1982. It was half-speed mastered and pressed on JVC's 200-gram virgin Super Vinyl and is number 4659 out of a 5000-copy limited edition run. The record is in absolutely true Near Mint condition and has no visible flaws of any kind. The surface looks new and shines like a pool of crude oil in sunlight. The box is also in nearly perfect shape, showing only very minor shelf wear. All of the original documents, inserts, foam pieces, jacket, and inner and outer sleeves are included and are also nearly perfect. This performance by Solti and the LSO is, in my opinion, the best ever recorded of The Planets and the sonics of the pressing are practically unbelievable-definitely a level above even their own "regular" release of this title. The UHQR series of records are probably the best classical LP pressings ever made, when you consider the spectacular sound quality and peerless performances.
