Released in June 2000 on Up Records, Night on the Sun is a highly significant and legendary vinyl EP release by the definitive American indie rock standard, Modest Mouse. Housed in its iconic, striking original jacket art showing an eerie blue-tinted handshake before a house, this limited-run 12-inch compilation stands as an absolute holy grail for alternative vinyl collectors. Recorded in January 1999 at Jupiter Studios alongside acclaimed producer Phil Ek, the EP compiles extended, texturally distinct early versions of landmark tracks that would later define their major-label breakthrough albums, The Moon & Antarctica and Everywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks.
