Chinese Vocal and Instrumental Ensemble, by unidentified Chinese Performers,
Incredibly Rare and important 1903 Victor Monarch recording!
The earliest disc records made for Chinese people were made by the early Chinese Colony in
America and issued by Victor in the United States.
No paper sleeve.
This record has a small crack. The crack runs from the outside edge and is approx. 1" long. It does not break all the way thru the back.... the surface skin on the back of the record is not broken thru. I played the record starting it just past the crack and it plays the remainder of the record without skipping. I did not attempt to play it with the needle running over the crack.
The record is not warped or chipped. A generally clean copy with multiple light scratches and rubs plays well for condition. The label does have a cut from where the needle must have run over it.
The date on the back says January 1, 1904 which means the recording was probably made in 1903.
I will pack this very well, following guidelines for shipping 78 records. I am located in the USA. If this is an international sale it will be shipped thru the ebay global shipping program with insurance. Costs to be paid by the buyer. I will pay for shipping from my residence to the global shipping center here in the states.
I will not sell as a buy it now, or outside this auction.
