Description
Selling this superb pair of Monitor Audio Gold 4G speaker stands as I no longer have speakers suitable to use with them. They were originally sold to be used with Monitor Audio Gold 50 and Gold 100 stand mount speakers although suit being used with a number of other speakers of a similar size.
I used them very successfully with both PMC and Dynaudio speakers, with the Gold 4G stands offering a very solid platform on which the speakers can stand. The stands are complete with their fully adjustable floor spikes/feet: the spikes are neatly removeable which leaves the feet being just the circular rubber edged discs, so very handy for use on solid floors where you don't want to leave marks from floor spikes. The stands can be filled for added weight/stability, I found that approximately 2/3rds full worked best, either with kiln dried sand or with something like Atabites if you have them. The stands will be shipped dismantled and flat packed so there is no filling included, I will leave that to the buyer to decide how they wish to use them. It is very easy build the stands and to fill them, the top and bottom plates are attached using a 3mm hex key which gives access to the hollow space to fill when the bases are installed.
The stands are in generally excellent condition with just a few hard to spot scuffs to the bases, mainly around the corners from hoover contact, though none are especially obvious when in use. There are also a couple of scuffs to the edges of the top plates which are not seen when speakers are sited on top of the stands and when they slightly overhang the top plate edge, plus there is a hard to see scuff on one side of an upright, which I have tried to show in the photos if you look closely. Overall they are in very, very good condition and look great in use. I particularly like the integrated cable tidy at the rear of the upright, with moveable plastic clips to keep the speaker cable in place. I have misplaced one of the three plastic clips on one of the stands but it still functions fine with just two on that side (you just move the clips up and down to get them in the correct place). Sizes of top and bottom plates are shown in the photos with the tape measure next to them, the stands are approximately 63cm tall with floor spikes fitted.
I don't have the original box/packaging for the stands but have a suitable strong box and plenty of bubble wrap and cardboard in which to safely wrap all the individual bits up, and will ensure they are all well wrapped for UK postage. Postage price includes full tracking and insurance as standard, hence the slightly high price, though I only charge what it costs me.You'll just need a 3mm hex key for the top and bottom plates, plus maybe a 4mm hex key for floor spike/foot adjustment. Original RRP on these was approximately £349.00 so my buy it now price is a bargain for someone.
