Description

Mono TRUE FIRST label version of Meet the Beatles - NO ASCAP or BMI

Label has NO ASCAP or BMI credits or, obviously, "Subsidiary."

Cover has NO George Martin. No printing plant number.
Seams are tight, all spine and top seam print there and legible. No ringwear. Tiny chip on George's lip and Paul's hair. Some creases or faint scratches on Paul's face,
Back cover clean with a small faint stain on the sleeve opening near bottom. Slight browning or foxing all over.
Labels are in good shape.
Vinyl is shiny with paper marks, scuffing, etc. Nothing that a fingernail would catch on..

I just listened to it the whole way through with headphones.
Good fidelity.
- 2 Skips/very short jumps in "Till There Was You" and "It Won't Be Long" no actual missing vocals. -
Not overwhelming but pretty consistent crackling.. Otherwise no real loud pops or skips.

Perry Cox and Frank Daniel's book on American Beatles records states that there were probably around 20,000 of this first and rarest label ever printed to begin with. No way to know how many there are now or are not trashed, this is a decent one.

I would grade the vinyl VG--/VG-- visual grade and VG-/VG- play grade.
VG+/VG- on the cover.
Includes original (dark) blue inner sleeve.

I think I am a CONSERVATIVE and thorough grader. I want to sell my stuff but I don't want to send it back - BUT I WILL if you feel I have been less than accurate or truthful.
So I grade like I would want to see if I were buying.
My feedback verifies this.
