Description
DESCRIPTION: This is a 1969 UK original stereo pressing of 'On The Threshold Of A Dream' by The Moody Blues. This is was released on the Deram label, but what makes this one unique is that it is a factory sample which was pressed for review or promotional purposes only. Consequently, both sides of the vinyl have been pressed from the very first ('1') mother, the very first ('B') stamper, and with the earliest ('2W') matrix numbers, making this particular record as close to the master tape that you can get. As you can imagine, then, this record really does sound great!
The vinyl looks near-mint under normal lighting. Under a bright LED light, I can see a few very faint, superficial sleeve-removal hairlines, but these do nothing. The vinyl plays loud and clear - wonderfully dynamic with no loud pops, repeating tics, skips or background crackle. A keeper copy for sure!
The laminated gatefold cover is in nice condition for its age. There is moderate wear at the top and the bottom of the spine and some light feathering at the opening, but the seams are clean. There is a small (2cm) area at the bottom of the spine, where the laminate has split, but the spine itself is intact. The spine text is clear and legible. There is a faint impression of the record on the rear panel, but the front panel is relatively clean. Inside the gatefold, the booklet is still firmly attached and in clean condition. Normally, I would grade the cover as EX, but the previous owner has clearly leant on the cover whilst writing something, as this has left an indented impression of the writing on the front panel; hence, down-graded to VG+. This indented writing is close to the top seam, and covers an area of approximately 10cm x 4cm. It certainly isn't unsightly, but it is there nevertheless.
Comes complete with the original blue poly-lined inner sleeve, which has all seams intact.

GRADING: Unless a record is sealed, I play-grade everything on a high-end turntable. My grading is strict, so even if you are buying a 'VG+' record from me, the chances are that you are actually buying a very nice keeper copy. Nevertheless, grading is quite subjective; so, if you feel that I haven't graded something properly, please contact me immediately. As a collector of vinyl myself, I know how important customer satisfaction is and I will do everything I can to resolve any issues.
PACKAGING: I do not charge for packaging costs. All records are packed well in sturdy record mailers with additional cardboard for protection. To prevent any seam splits during transit, I always ensure that records are packed outside of their covers.
