Description
I specialize in lost, atmospheric, and hypnotic 45s. Grading is done conservatively, visually. Check unaltered sound clips. I currently have a number of cool popcorn, soul, mambo, rockabilly, garage, R&B, country, surf, boogaloo, blues, funk, psychedelic, Balearic, modern soul, sunshine pop, mod, weirdo wave, heavy/hard rock, exotica, gospel, and oddball instrumental 45 obscurities up for grabs. And, in addition to tons of great 45s from greater Texas and Louisiana, I've listed some cool and weird Xmas-related discs this week.
ARTIST: Soul's Express
TITLE: Jeanette / My Dream Girl
LABEL: Express
CONDITION: G (Plays nicely, decent gloss with lotsa typical scuffs and scratches from poor storage. Label wear and scuffs as seen, tiny bit of ink on flip's label.)
Beautiful, moody, hideously obscure garage jangle from the mid-'60s Great Plains. Wonderfully angsty teen vocal, and the reverb and generally primitivist production here really bring out the jangly tones and Zombies-influenced harmonies. This woulda made sense as a moody New England record but it's from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and shares more genetic code with the 12-string folk-rock of Midwestern labels like IGL, Studio City, Soma, etc.
