Description
Somewhere between sentiment and spectacle, Morrissey stood beneath the chandeliers of the Chelsea Ballroom in Las Vegas.
He didn’t cover Satellite of Love. He inhabited it.
On this beautifully pressed 7" picture disc, you’ll find that moment—frozen and spinning. A reverent tribute to Lou Reed, performed live on November 25, 2011, delivered with Morrissey’s singular blend of ache and armor.
The disc is framed with a rarely seen photograph by Renaud Monfourny—the lensman who knew how to catch the quiet behind the bravado.
You’re Gonna Need Someone On Your Side — the ferocious opener from Your Arsenal, all snarl and swagger, produced by Mick Ronson, the same hands that once sculpted Lou Reed’s Transformer.
You Say You Don’t Love Me — a taut, jagged live cover of The Buzzcocks’ classic, drenched in Moz’s signature sigh.
Not just an artifact.
A constellation of influences.
And at the center, one man holding the mic like a lifeline.
Thoughtfully stored in nonsmoking location.
