"I Know Very Well How I Got My Note Wrong" is a rare, unofficial outtake by Morrissey, recorded during sessions for his 1988 debut solo album Viva Hate. It is a live studio recording of the B-side "I Know Very Well How I Got My Name," featuring Morrissey on vocals and guitarist Vini Reilly of The Durutti Column. The track famously ends with Reilly playing a wrong note, prompting both musicians to burst into laughter. Released in March 1989, it was not sold commercially but given away free with the first 1,000 copies of The Durutti Column's album Vini Reilly, packaged as a 7" vinyl and a 3" CD single.
