Morrissey - 'Viva Hate' Japanese LP With Etched 7"- 1988

Japanese pressings are a particular pleasure to own, being pressed on high quality vinyl and always lavishly packaged with Japanese/English lyric inserts. The first copies of this Japanese pressing of 'Viva Hate' were also accompanied by a bonus single-track 7" with 'Hairdresser On Fire' on the A-Side and etched artwork on the B-side. This copy for auction is unusual in that it is in outstanding condition throughout (see below) and is complete with 'OBI strip' and Japanese/English lyric insert booklet accompanying the main record, the insert booklet appearing to contain excerpts from a Morrissey interview in Japanese, and has the miniature Japanese/English lyric insert which came with the etched 7". The bonus 7" itself is a particularly sought-after item in recent times, becoming increasingly rare and the etched reproduction of the 'Suedehead' artwork on the reverse is quite exquisite! This is a superb example of the care and attention which often went into Japanese vinyl releases, being reminiscent of the Japanese debut Smiths LP release on Tokuma records with red interview flexi disc, and you would be unlikely to find one which has been preserved in better condition than the one which is offered for auction here.The vinyl and labels are in mint condition, appearing unplayed and having no surface marks on the highly-glossy vinyl or black labels. The sleeve and OBI strip are in near mint condition, with sharp edges and corners and practically no signs of wear at all with just the smallest beginnings of creases in a couple of places which are barely visible. The outer sleeve has benefitted from having the record stored separately since practically new. The inner lyric booklet is also in near mint condition with only the lightest signs of handling. The etched 7" and packaging are in near mint condition, with no marks on the vinyl and just some faint 'rippling' in its delicate thin paper sleeve which has no splits or damage. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the items themselves.
