Description

The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.
I accept returns and offer a full refund if you are not happy with your purchase.

Morrissey - 'Have-A-Go Merchant' UK Promo 7" - 1995

Catalogue no. RDJ 6400 - Parlophone

This is a terrifically-rare and collectable promotional 7" record which was issued in very limited numbers in the UK at the time of the release of the 1995 'World Of Morrissey' album. Although the CD version of this promotional item is occasionally seen offered for sale, it is almost impossible to find copies of the vinyl 7" on the market which suggests that far lower numbers were produced. In Record Collector's recent (Christmas 2009) Morrissey 'Top 50 Rarities' article this promotional 7" was listed at Number 31, while the CD version did not make an appearance. The tracks listed on the sleeve and record labels are 'Have-A-Go Merchant' on the A-Side and 'Whatever Happens, I Love You' on the B-side. Strangely, according to the aforementioned Record Collector article, the tracks on the vinyl are actually 'Boxers' on the A-Side and 'Have-A-Go Merchant' on the B-Side, though I have not played the record to verify this. The red record labels, being specially designed for this promotional version, are completely different from those on the 'Boxers' single 7" and the sleeve artwork is unique to this limited promotional release. Further information in the Record Collector article suggests that 'Have-A-Go Merchant' was originally earmarked for release as a single accompanied by the sleeve artwork seen here, which makes this unique sleeve effectively unreleased 7" artwork. This is a very rare chance to get hold of an extremely collectable original Morrissey promotional 7" which has been preserved in superb condition (see below) and which may not be seen offered for sale again in a long time; seeming certain to increase in value in the condition offered here.

The vinyl and labels are in strong excellent condition, being highly glossy with just some 'hairline' surface marks in a few places. The record appears to be unplayed and the labels have no marks or signs of wear, just a few minor 'indentations' which appear to have been a result of the manufacturing process. The sleeve is also in strong excellent condition, retaining its original surface shine with just some very minor 'corner wear' in a couple of places and the mildest beginnings of some light creases towards two of the corners. The record has been stored outside of its sleeve since being in my possession, and there are no seam splits in the cover or signs of 'ringwear'. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.

All my auctions start at 1P and have NO RESERVE. They are all 100% genuine, original versions. Some are in mint/new condition and some are used; all will go to the highest bidder. I offer a money-back guarantee if anything is described incorrectly. Postage and Packing is free in the UK for untracked and uninsured standard postage, but please consider paying the 1.00 surcharge for tracked postage since there is, of course, nothing that can be done to find out what happened if the parcel is lost when standard postage is chosen. Shipping costs are greater for overseas buyers, but still good value; please check prices by using the options above or feel free to ask. I always take great care to package items well.

See my other auctions for related rare items here. If multiple auctions are won at the same time (within a week), I will charge only the postage cost for the heaviest item and pay the remainder myself. This is the case wherever you live.
