Description
The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

Morrissey - 'Suedehead' Mispressed 12'' - 1988

This mispressed copy of the 1988 12" 'Suedehead' single appears, upon first inspection, to be identical to the standard release, bearing the same catalogue number and packaging. If you hold the vinyl next to a standard copy, however, you can just about see that the B-side plays a different second track due to the tiny differences in the groove patterns. The second track on the B-side in this case was incorrectly pressed with 'Ordinary Boys' instead of the intended 'Hairdresser On Fire' which is listed on the sleeve. As described in the 2009 Record Collector 'Top 50 Morrissey Rarities' article, 'very few' of these mispressed copies made it into circulation and the vast majority have 'Hairdresser On Fire' on the B-side as intended. The first copies of the 'Suedehead' 12" were also issued with a bright blue inner sleeve bearing the catalogue number, as included here, before later copies reverted to a somewhat less interesting plain black inner sleeve. This rarity has become well-known amongst Morrissey collectors but is rarely actually seen or offered for sale.The vinyl and labels are in strong excellent condition, with just a few superficial surface marks and some very light 'hairline' surface marks in a few places. The bright blue inner sleeve is intact with no creases or marks and is also in strong excellent condition, as is the gold-coloured outer sleeve which has no creases and just minor wear to the corners and edges in a few places. A very nice item which is both rare and highly sought-after as a genuinely collectable item. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
