This UK 12" pressing, on the 'Island' label, is one of the most difficult of all Morrissey's 12" singles to obtain. The popularity of the 12" vinyl format in the late 1990s was very low in comparison to the CD single, and consequently relatively small numbers were produced. Difficult enough to obtain as a 7" single, 'Satan Rejected My Soul' only very rarely comes up for sale in this 12" format. This original 1997 12", pressed on heavyweight vinyl with the distinctive 'pink rim' Island labels and housed in a thick cardboard glossy sleeve, is an impressive item and a pleasure to own. This copy is particularly collectable in that it is in superb condition (see below).The heavyweight vinyl and labels are in near mint condition, having just some very light 'hairline' surface marks in a few places on the highly-glossy vinyl. The record has clearly been played once or twice at most. The thick glossy outer sleeve is in excellent condition. There are no marks or creases at all to the outer sleeve, but just some minor 'bumping' to one of the bottom corners. The only signs of wear is the presence of some seam splitting in the middle of the edges where the surface has just been broken by the heavy vinyl inside, but the resulting effect on the appearance is minimal when the sleeve is viewed from either the front or the back. The wonderfully-glossy appearance of the sleeve has been preserved. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
