Rare white label promo copy of this beautiful experimental electronic lp with some of Subotnick's most interesting work, among the hardest to find of his major label releases. This composition was a commission by Columbia, realized on a unique synthesizer designed by Donald Buchla in collaboration with the composer; it features an array of abstract and rhythmic synth noises and microtones, with some nifty bouncing ball-type effects (decades before Aphex Twin) and intricate interlocking patterns.

Subotnick became prominent as an electronic and multi-media composer in the late 60s; he was a pupil of Leon Kirschner and Darius Milhaud and a master of the Buchla synth, blazed the same trails as James Tenney, Gottfried Michael Koenig, Herbert Eimert, Jean-Claude Risset, Pril Smiley, Jon Appleton, Pierre Henry, Terry Riley, Vladimir Ussachevsky, John Eaton, etc., and works often with his wife Joan La Barbara. • The Buchla synth, an early Moog competitor, was created by Donald Buchla and pioneered musician-friendly user interface innovations; it has been used by Douglas Leedy, Paul Beaver, Bernard Krause, Toshi Ichiyanagi, Bulent Arel, Ragnar Grippe, Ernst Krenek, and Daria Semegen.

International Shipping 1 or 2 records to Europe/UK/Scandinavia/Asia/Australia is $24.00 for USPS First Class Airmail with tracking, and roughly $12 for every 2 additional lps depending on weight (7" records will cost less; heavy box sets will cost more). 1 or 2 records to Canada is $16.50 for First Class Airmail with tracking. 1 or 2 records to Mexico is $21.50 for First Class Airmail with tracking. Other international destinations vary as does the cost of adding additional lps depending on weight, email for a quote. Please note that First Class Airmail usually takes about 2 weeks and is uninsured. International shipments requiring insurance can use the faster but more expensive USPS Priority Mail International service or other expedited insured methods. Packing I pack professionally and with the utmost care drawn from years of experience trading vinyl internationally. I use new record mailers which I have determined are the best and most protective, reinforced with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap padding. All records are shipped with poly plastic sleeves and with the vinyl outside of the cover to prevent damage. All packages are completely sealed with strong packing tape covering all openings. Unless requested, no paper invoice is included in the package, both to save trees and to avoid customs difficulties. If you'd like your package done any differently, just let me know.
