Out-Of-Print. Mosaic #107 - Four LPs featuring 81 performances plus a 16 page 12” x 12” Booklet All In Very Good Condition. This is number 283 of an edition limited to 7500 albums.

REVIEW: This limited-edition four-LP box set from Mosaic has all of the early Blue Note recordings of tenors John Hardee and Ike Quebec. The little-known three sessions from Hardee are all from 1946 (one is under the leadership of guitarist Tiny Grimes) and find him in top form on a variety of swing-based originals, along with a few standards. Ike Quebec’s early Blue Note dates are superior examples of small-group swing and this fabulous box set is certainly definitive but promises to be difficult to find.
