Mothers of Invention: Freak Out! debut Zappa double LP
The Mothers of Invention was an American band active from 1964 to 1975. They mainly performed works by, and were the original recording group of composer and guitarist Frank Zappa, although other members have an occasional writing credit.
Freak Out! is their debut album, released June 27, 1966 on Verve Records. Though often cited as one of rock music's first concept albums, the real unifying theme of the album is not musical, but a satirical attitude based on frontman Frank Zappa's unique perception of American pop culture. It was also one of the earliest double albums in rock music.
The album influenced the production of The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. In 1999, it was honored with the Grammy Hall of Fame Award, and in 2003, Rolling Stone ranked it among the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Gatefold cover with humorous liner notes. Cover is in good condition, but has moderate wear to the edges - with some splitting. Couple of words written in pen on back cover.
Both records are in very good to excellent condition - lightly played, clean, with hardly any noticeable surface marks.

- Very Good Condition Showing some slight signs of wear and/or minor creases. Stamps, names etc will be noted. Older books may have slight yellowing or foxing.
- Good Condition "Reading copy only". Average, used book showing wear and tear but with pages and cover present and intact. May have moderate creasing, yellowing or foxing. Often have previous owner's name, bookstore stamp, ex-lib or other markings. (Ex-lib means former library book)
