Description
The Five Stars, Blabber Mouth b/w Baby Baby on End 1028. Barry Gordy got this group (who had previously been the Thrillers and the Five Jets) a deal at End Records. He also co-wrote both sides with Billy Davis (aka T. Carlo) and one side with Gwen Gordy. After their stint on End, the group would change their name to the Voice Masters and cut a couple of great records on Anna before ultimately rebranding themselves as The Originals, and of course enjoying a long and successful career. This 45 is weak VG with decent gloss, no deep scratches, plays with some background noise. This is a nice record to own under any circumstances, but one side of this copy also has the signatures of all five group members--Joe Murphy, Crathman Spencer (aka Spencer Sterling), Raymond Dorsey, Henry Jones, and Walter Gaines. It's signed "to Iris." Given all the great work these five guys did over the course of several decades, this is a terrific piece of Detroit soul history.
