The record is in NM+++ condition, with no scratches or scruffs. This is a Hi-Fidelity record (mono) recording.

This is an incredibly rare Japanese issue of the LIVE recording of Waters’s legendary Newport Music Festival performance, on July 3, 1960. Because of rioting that had occurred, the Newport city council had barred all remaining performances, with the exception of the Sunday afternoon blues concert–and Muddy Waters performance went on as scheduled. One of the amazing features of that performance an on-the-spot performance of a blues song that was written by the African-American poet, Langston Hughes as the concert was in progress. Using the only blank scraps of paper available in the tent, Langston Hughes created this homage to the Festival. Neither Muddy Waters nor the pianist Otis Spann had even seen this hastily scratched out piece of blues, but right there and then performed "Goodbye Newport Blues", which is the last track o this record.

The record contains an inner liner page, containing the lyrics on one side (in English) and liner notes written in Japanese on the reverse. The obi strip is stored in the record. (See all photos.) The record and cover have been stored in a heavy plastic cover. As a result there is only slight wear on the bottom seam, slight wear at the bottom corners (more on the left than the right), about an inch and half of wear on the top seam. On the spine, just some wear of the word "Special" on the bottom right, where the word P-Vine Special is imprinted.

I accept Paypal only. All items are packed using mailers specifically designed for LP’s, and I pack carefully using bubble wrap for added protection as well as outer brown paper wrapping that is well-taped.

For items mailed to bidders within the United States, the shipping will be via media mail and I ship within three days of the receipt of payment by Paypal. The media mail shipping rates do vary by the weight of the package and destination of the item.

For international buyers, I ship First Class International Mail, which is the least expensive method. I will contact you following the close of auction and I will find out the ACTUAL shipping costs and send you that information so that you will know the ACTUAL postage for the item, fully packaged and wrapped before you make your deposit into Paypal. Do not make any deposits into Paypal until I have contacted you and given you the cost of postage. I have no desire to artificially inflate the cost of your item by exaggerating shipping charges.
