This 9 cd, 205 track box set compiles all the tracks released by Muddy Waters on the Chess label between1947 and 1967. This set is accompanied by a 64-page booklet which gives a brief biography of Muddy and a complete sessionography of the recordings contained in the set. The set is assembled chronologically, with the first 8 discs containing Muddy's songs in their most familiar mastering version, while disc 9 contains alternative takes. Contained in the 9 discs are recordings Muddy did featuring Little Walter, Buddy Guy, Willie Dixon, Fred Below, Big Crawford and other legendary blues masters.
