This is an original promotion copy of Murray Head with The Blue Monks’
7” Columbia single DB 8102
Someday Soon b/w You Bore Me
Released 13 January 1967 - only one owner!
Murray Head is best known for his west end musical roles, in the original 70s Jesus Christ Superstar, notably in Chess – with his 1984 hit ‘One Night In Bangkok’, and later with ‘Say it ain’t so’. However this A side is one of his earliest outings released on the back of his acting appearance in the 1966 film ‘The Family Way’ and was produced by Tim Rice.
But it is the B side which makes this single of particular interest because ‘You Bore Me’ was included in EMI’s 2007 compilation ‘Take My Tip – 25 Brit-Mod Gems from the EMI Vaults’. It’s a mod party pop piece very much of its time.
A very collectable little rarity.

I've owned this single from new since it was given to me in 1967. I was always a bit of a hi-fi nut so I can absolutely vouch for the fact that it's been well looked after and played on reasonable equipment - probably only played half a dozen times. It comes in the original Columbia sleeve.
I'm not familiar with the conventions for grading the condition. However as you can see from the pictures the sleeve is clean and in reasonable condition with no writing or pen or pencil marks, and apart from a split at the left hand fold has no other significant marks or tears.
The record itself has no visible blemishes at all that I can see. The label is clean and virtually unmarked, once again with no writing, pen or pencil marks. The centre is intact and the spindle hole is perfect. The playing surface has no visible scratches and looks as good as new. The reproduction quality is about as good as it got from a 1967 vinyl single pressing - it's never going to be CD quality, but pretty good nevertheless. There's no audible scratches or crackles other than the usual surface noise that you'd get with any new vinyl record. The lead in and play out grooves are clean and glitch-free.
I believe this is as close as you'll get to a mint condition original copy of this very rare single. This record was not a hit so demos and stock copies will be very hard to find.
