Description
No 50 from 12th February 1966 with The Who on the front page, this piece of pop history features pictures and/or articles on the Spencer Davis Group/John Carter of the Ivy League/Walker Brothers/Billy Fury/full page ad for the Fortunes This Golden Ring single/Chad & Jeremy and smaller articles on David Bowie/The Action/P.J.Proby + dozens of interesting pieces of pop news of the day. The back page is devoted to Mersey Beat with small articles and/or pics on the Cryin' Shames, Merseys and Billy Hatton of the Fourmost + other snippets. Also has record reviews and a letters section which I sometimes find very interesting + the Top 50 UK singles, Top 50 Albums, Top 50 US singles and Top 10's from Radio Caroline, Radio London, BBC, + Top 10 EP's and the Top 10 sheet music. It only has 12 pages but is quite large measuring 17" x 11", and is one of thousands I bought new in the 60's. They've been in my loft and untouched for over 25 years. It has small tears on the opening edges and a small piece nearly torn off on the back page, top right, otherwise in excellent condition, although it has slightly browned with age. Not in bad condition for a 40 year old mag. I would imagine that most of these would have been thrown out over the years, making this and others I have quite rare.
