Mussorgsky Boris Godounov Christoff Cluytens UK HMV SAN 110
Boris Christoff (as Boris, Pimen and Vaarlam), John Lanigan, Evelyn Lear and others with the Chorus of the Sofia National Opera and the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra conducted by Andre Cluytens perform Mussorgsky’s “Boris Godounov”. A four record set, this is an English pressing on the HMV Label (SAN 110-3.). The labels are gold with small white dog and Angel logos with Made in Gt. Britain at 6 o’clock. There is a small mark at the start of side eight which does not sound, and the records are of excellent appearance and play and sound superb with a minimum of surface noise. The box laminate has rubbed a little with some minor wear to the cloth on the edges and back, but overall in excellent condition.
