Mussorgsky Pictures At An Exhibition (original piano solo version) performed by Vladimir Ashkenazy and Mussorgsky - Ravel orchestral version performed by Zubin Mehta, Decca SXL 6328 with the original deep groove, "Made in England" at 10 o' clock position label original 1st U.K. pressing from 1967.  The dead wax matrices end in 3w for Side 1 and 1w for Side 2.  This is in superbly clean condition with the cover glistening glossy and the record in super clean condition.  I have not heard a cleaner sounding U.K. Decca or London pressing from the 60's.  The only flaw is that the original owner wrote when he listened to this record ("2/68 xx", probably meaning that he heard it twice in February, 1968).  This owner apparently purchased classical records in the 1960's and played them once or twice to record them to tape and never played them again.  I played this once during my many years of ownership.  It is simply as clean a copy of any U.K. Decca record as I have ever seen.  I never had the heart to play this and it has just been sitting there.  It is also very desirable in that this has the ORIGINAL PIANO version of Pictures At An Exhibition, the way Mussorgsky original wrote the music.  Side 2 also has the orchestral version by Ravel.  This is a 1967 recording of two wonderful performances with excellent sound.  Apparently, this does not get listed very often on eBay, as I have only found two previous listings on popsike.com.  I guess it did not sell too many copies.  

Vinyl Conditon:  NM, almost like new!  I have heard a cleaner UK Decca pressing from the 1960's.

Cover Condition:  NM- (because of the previous owner's date mark on the back).  The previous owner also had several clippings from newspapers and music magazines about this record from back around 1967 or 1968.  Those clippings are also in pristine condition.

GRADING POLICY FOR LPS:  Grading is for the cover/box and for the record.  The record may have two grades, one for visual grade and another for play grade.  I have never played some of these records and some records may only be visually graded.  The grading for the record will be relative to a mint record of the period manufactured by the same record company.  Therefore, the standards will not be the same between, for example, a Japanese Pioneer/Holland Philips/German Teldec pressing of the early 80’s (which are on super quiet vinyl) and a U.S. ABC/MCA pressing of the late 70’s (which are typically noisier).  A Near Mint graded late 70’s U.S. ABC or MCA record will play with considerably more background noise caused by cheaper vinyl material than a Near Mint graded early 80’s Japanese Pioneer, Holland Philips or German Teldec record. 

SHIPPING POLICY:  All records have been cleaned on my VPI 16.5 record cleaning machine and will be placed in a poly-lined or rice paper sleeves, unless the records are sealed.  The LP will be packed in a cardboard box LP mailer manufactured by ULINE.  The record will be placed outside of the LP outer jacket so that it will not damage the cover during transit. 

For U.S. destinations, the shipping cost for 1 record delivered via US Postal Service Parcel Post will be $6 if your State touches the Pacific Ocean, $8 if your State or Commonwealth touches the Atlantic Ocean, and $7 if your State touches neither Ocean.  For each additional record, add $1 for each for up to 6 records.  (Each LP mailer will fit up to about 6 records.)  For example, for a boxed set containing 3 records, please just add $2 to the shipping cost of the first record.  If you would like your item shipped using a different option offered by the US Post Office (e.g., Priority Mail or Express Mail) or a private courier service (e.g., FedEx or UPS), please contact me.
