Description
I specialize in lost, atmospheric, and hypnotic 45s. Grading is done conservatively, visually. Check unaltered sound clips. I currently have a number of cool soul, popcorn, Latin, rockabilly, garage, R&B, country, surf, blues, funk, psychedelic, sunshine pop, mod, lounge, exotica, heavy rock, modern soul, gospel, swamp pop, Cajun, Tejano, metal, townie rock, song poem, punk, power pop, and oddball and unclassifiable instrumental 45 obscurities up for grabs. I've also listed some really fantastic and scarce garage band 45s from Texas this week.
ARTIST: The Invicta Way
TITLE: What Am I to Do / Things As They Should Be (Two Flowers Spreading Love)
LABEL: Someone Else
CONDITION: VG++
Cool, mysterioso Texas garage band disc, circa '67. With its faux-Eastern melodies, tambourine, and bewitching compact organ lines, "What Am I To Do" is perhaps reminiscent of the Seeds, though its ambitious arrangment is also charmingly at odds with the weedy, bashed-out Texas production values. Touches of marimba(!) and a telephone call from nowhere on the equally curious 12-string ballad "Things As They Should Be (Two Flowers Spreading Love)." Very confusing artist name and label side differentation here, too, would welcome any clarification. A San Antonio affair, I believe.
