If you're not familiar with Naked Raygun we're guessing you either never spent time in Chicago between 1989 and 1999, hate punk music, or simply don't bother trying to find out what songs are playing on specialist rock radio shows.
Simply put, this band is one of the most important in US guitar history - or at least around a decade of that history - managing to influence and inspire countless others, hence having a number of albums dedicated to them, films documenting their story, and a resume that reads like a sprawling spider diagram referencing a who's who of gritty, sweaty, basement rock. Over the Overlords is a classic example of why they are so good, combining pop sensibilities and pacing with the sense of disenfranchised youth yearning to speak out about the wrongs of a world in which few of us feel comfortable to be ourselves.
