NAT YOUNG'S-HISTORY OF AUSTRALIAN SURFING -RARE-LP-TULLY/TAMAM SHUD/SPECTRUM/G WAYNE THOMAS
Here on offer is Australia’s best surfing music compilation EVER! I've been in Music for over 25 years and have seen millions of records in my time but this is THE first time I've laid eyes on this release. Entitled Nat Young’s History of Australian Surfing. It was released on the CBS label CP16 in 1986. This is an incredibly rare album. I would personally rate it more difficult to find than the classic soundtracks Crystal Voyager and Morning of the Earth. It was issued only in Australia and features the very best of Australian surf music. The cover notes were written by Nat Young the legendary Australian world surfing champion of the 60s.
The record looks to be unplayed, list it as NM-, sleeve has a bit of wear but not enough to deem it as just as a VG+, I see it more as a VG++
Tracks include:
· The Atlantics – Bombora
· The Delltones – Out the back
· The Joy Boys – Murphy the Surfie
· The Midnighters – Foofy Foot
· The Denvermen – Stomp fever
· The Sunsets – Hot generation
· The Loved Ones – The Loved Ones
· The Easybeats – Friday on my mind
· Russell Morris – The real thing
· Tamam Shud – See the swells
· G Wayne Thomas – Morning of the earth
· Tully – Sea of joy
· Spectrum – I’ll be gone
· Dragon – April sun in Cuba
· Billy Thorpe – It’s almost summer
· Richard Clapton – Capricorn dancer
· Mental as anything – The nips are getting bigger
· Australian Crawl – Boys light up
There isn't another copy of this on Ebay, last one popped up over a year ago and the ones before that more than 2 years ago. It's a rare album, be quick if you want a nice copy of it.
