Description

NAZARETH - NAZARETH - vinyl LP -  Pegasus - PEG 10
A-2U/B-2U MATRIXES +"PORKY"AND"PECKO" CREDITS
1st issue TEXTURED SLEEVE
Very first issue of this progressive / hard rock masterpiece released in the UK on the Pegasus label in 1971.
This LP was later reissued with a non textured sleeve - this is the almost impossible to find original.  Remember that this LP sold very few copies upon it's release as Nazareth were just another obscure prog rock band at the time, it wasn't until 1973 after Nazareth supported Deep Purple on tour that they began to get critical recognition and started selling records in any large quantities.

Tracklist: WITHCDOCTOR WOMAN DEAR JOHN EMPTY ARMS,EMPTY HEART I HAD A DREAM RED LIGHT LADY FAT MAN COUNTRY GIRL MORNING DEW KING IS DEAD
The textured sleeve is in EX condtion overall, there is a small amount of edge / corner wear.
The disc is a lovely example of this LP, there are some small scuffs / hairline sleeve removal marks visible when held up to a light but trust me it sounds SUPERB - I played once to test and there is practically no crackle or surface noise, the instruments sound so loud and clear, personally I'd much rather have a disc like this that sounds EX++++ with a few superficial marks than a dull sounding EX copy with no marks but grooves that have been ruined by overplaying with the awful heavy styluses that a lot of people uses back in the 70s
I would therefore have to grade VG++ or EX minus visually but confidently grade it EX++++ or even near mint for sound quality.

Added on 3/1/12 Just noticed I've put an incorrect date on the listing title, this LP was released in 1971 of course, though I believe it was recorded in 1970
