Negativeland's notorious 1991 release titled U2 on 12" record, SST 272.

The recording mixed samples of the U2 song with outtakes from Casey Kasem's radio program American Top 40.
Negativland's label, SST Records, was sued by Island Records and publisher Warner/Chappell. SST was directed to recall and destroy all remaining copies. According to SST, there were 2,950 copies of the record manufactured and 1,152 returned (leaving only 1,808 copies in the public's hands).
Here is an original, unopened copy of the record, along with original (NOT photocopies) of the SST recall notice and three subsequent SST letters. Also included is Negativland's 1992 Christmas Newsletter which has many of the legal documents pertaining to the case.
