Description
Here are the ultimate high quality audiophile pressings of the first 2 Neil Young lps.
Neil Young, Reprise/Pioneer P-8121R, gatefold cover with obi and insert. The cover is clean, the white areas are white, with a hint of spotting below the picture inside the gatefold, but hardly noticeable. The obi is clean and crisp with a slight fade to the left border in the dark green areas. You can see from the pictures that it's also minor. There is a slight crinkle (I don't kow what else to call it) on the front cover at the bottom directly below his right eye. You can feel it more than see it, but it certainly doesn't detract from the appearance of the lp. The vinyl is EX+ to NM, Has a few very light marks that do not affect play in any way. There are a few spindle marks on each side visible only at the right angle under bright light. Looks and sounds great! Songs are Emperor of Wyoming, The Loner, If I Could Have Her Tonight, I've Been Waiting For You, The Old Laughing Lady, String Quartet From Whiskey Boot Hill, Here We Are In The Years, What Did You Do To My Life, I've Loved Her So Long, The Last Trip to Tulsa.
Neil Young with Crazy Horse, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, Reprise/Pioneer P8122R, gatefold cover with obi and insert. Near perfect cover with minimal corner wear. The obi is intact, no tears, but beginning to wear at the bottom right, with what appear to be 2 small creases. EX++ to NM. The vinyl has no flaws. None. Plays perfectly. Again, a few spindle marks are visible on each side at the right angle under bright light, but as far as flaws, that's it. Solid M-. Songs are Cinnamon Girl, Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, Round and Round, Down By the River, The Losing End, Running Dry, and Cowgirl In The Sand. Again, looks and sounds great!
Both lps have the Japanese inserts, clean and near new looking.
The Rules- Buyer pays actual shipping. No hidden charges. Sellers who charge 4-6 dollars for Media mail are a pet peeve of mine.
Use the shipping calculator to figure your costs. Paypal preferred, money orders O.K.
The Rant: I'm tired of receiving lps graded MINT that have scratches and scuffs. Also the ones that are so dirty the seller can't see the scratches and scuffs. I'm also dizzy from trying to decipher mint minus from EX+, VG+ from EX, etc, with no description of what caused that rating.
The commitment: I'll describe the item as much as I need to to give a clear picture of the condition. If there are flaws, I'll describe them. If there are ANY marks OF ANY KIND on the vinyl I'll play through them to make sure they do not affect the listening experience. If they do, the listing will say so. Grading is an arbitrary thing, so I'll assign a grade, and you can use the description to cross check. Please e:mail any questions prior to the close of the auction. I will guarantee your money back, plus your postage, if the description of the item is inaccurate.
The Request: If for any reason you are unhappy with what you receive, talk to me and let's try to work it out before starting the feedback wars. I'll be reasonable and respectful, unlike some of the dealers I've tried to talk to about their ratings.
Thanks for looking, and good luck!
