Description

NEWCASTLE BIG BAND is the first recording featuring Sting - before Last Exit, and before global fame with Police and a massive solo career.  This album was recorded in Newcastle and France in 1972 and showcases his jazz roots.

Only 2000 of these were ever pressed (on the Wallsend-based Impulse label), which makes it a rare item in itself - even rarer in this case, as this copy was signed by Sting and his wife Trudie Styler in a visit to Newcastle in 2004. 

The record has seen some wear - the sleeve is marked and there is surface noise on the disc - but this is not unusual for a 33-year old record and this is more than a run-of-the-mill piece of vinyl.  More a slice of history....
