INDIA NAVIGATION IN 3026 (1982, USA)
Experimental composer Phil Niblock’s first LP recording on the scarce India Navigation label. Niblock notes from the enclosed two-page insert: The pieces are instrumental works, made on tape, performed as tape only or tape with live musicians. The scores are the composer’s mix scores. In performance the live musician plays with the tape, moving around the space, either matching tones on the tape or playing adjacent tones, creating shifting pools of beats and changed harmonics as he moves through space. The structure of the music comes from the reproduction of the tape. The live musician is not a soloist with tape background, but the converse. Niblock has become one of the most influential composers of late. This very scarce LP is rarely offered on eBay and seldom seen.
Record is in NEAR MINT+ condition (appears unplayed) & witty graphic jacket in NM+. LIKE NEW!
