This is an UNOPENED, MINT AND UNPLAYED copy of;

'THE NOAH'S ARK TRAP'   by
NIC JONES

RELEASED IN 1977 on the SHANACHIE Label  SHAN - 79003

This is in itself a rare and hard to find LP anyway,
but to find an example of this original release unopened and shrink-wrapped is virtually uhheard of.
There are MINT copies of the later 1980 release and subsequent releases of 'PENGUIN EGGS',
BUT, I have never seen one like this of the earlier NIC JONES Albums...

Originally released in the UK in 1977 as well on TRAILER RECORDS and produced by BILL LEADER.

This one is on the SHANACHIE RECORDS LABEL which was the Canadian and US distributor.
It's Catalogue no. is SHAN 79003

It is still the original Bill Leader produced album,
identical in almost every way to the UK TRAILER edition, save for and only for the
SHANACHIE LOGO and sticker, does it differ from the UK version; 

Cover Art, Sleeve Design, Track Listings etc. are identical...

There is a sticker as I've said, on the back of the cover on the wrapping,
on which is printed;

"...DISTRIBUTED BY/ DISTRIBUE PAR
BOOT RECORDS LIMITED
1343 Matheson Blvd E.,
Mississauga, Ontario
Canada L4W 1R1..."

It is probably what is a called a "CUT-OUT" LP - a practice used in America/Canada.
A factory-fitted cut was applied to the sleeve prior to these records being sent out to a store either for free as a promo or sold cut-price,
and this was to stop a full refund given to back to the dealer if returned from him/her as not sold.
There was usually absolutely nothing wrong with the contents.
The cut on this LP is so small that at 5mm it doesn't even go close to the vinyl inside. (See photo).

It's not very often you can say this about an LP from the 70s -

I am in the process of selling a few rare and unusual records, some in MINT but most in the EX or VERY GOOD PLUS range of condition.

I try to grade records as accurately and as fairly as I can, as I have found that things I have bought on eBay have mostly been described pretty well, with only a couple in over nearly two-hundred transactions being not quite as described - but near enough for me not to complain!

MINT (M) -  Sealed and/or obviously unplayed. Perfect condition.

NEAR MINT (NM) -  Vinyl in new condition, record may have been played once or twice.
The cover may have very, very slight wear and/or creasing.

EXCELLENT. (EX) - The record shows evidence of being played with a few light surface marks or scuffs. the cover posssibly has slight general wear.

VERY GOOD (VG) - The record shows signs of being played a lot with a few light scuffs,  scratches and subject to normal wear and tear.

GOOD - Plays reasonably well but has lots of scuffing/scratching that may be distracting. The cover shows lots of wear with creasing, tears and splits.
