Description

In 1969 the first pressing of this LP had a black / silver label. Later that same year the product had a pink label. This listing is for the latter.
I love that feeling when you first handle a LP and by the sharpness, cleanliness and freshness of the cover and inner sleeve you know immediately that the vinyl is going to be the same and that the album has been tucked away undisturbed for eons (well, many years at least).  I'm happy to report this is one such example.  It's been in my large (my wife says ridiculous) collection for decades and how and when I acquired it is lost in the mists of time.
So, laminated flipback sleeve and the flip tabs fold externally onto the matt rear face.  Genius description at the rear top right which reads....'File under POPULAR....Pop Groups' which is rather demeaning to Robert Wyatt and Co!  Yes, the sleeve is almost a time warp example; the only effects of the years are archetypal slight creasing of the lamination, a 5mm rub on the top spine corner plus a 25mm rub at the middle of the bottom seam (no split).  Overall condition wise the sleeve has to get 9/10.
The labels are clean and in my opinion show one, possibly two plays at most as witnessed by the minimal spindle tracks. Look how sharp the holes are!  Note that the dark spot by the hole on side 1 is a pink colour blemish from manufacture.  On the runoff areas the matrix detail for side 1 is SPG 1002 A -1G with 0 at 3 o'clock and SPG 1002 B-1G for side 2.
For the vinyl itself it is flat with no dishing.  The shiny vinyl looks minty but as always I angle it under an unforgiving bright light for an accurate portrayal.  Sometimes my heart sinks but not in this case. All I can see in anger are a few faint scuff marks due no doubt to handling the plastic in and out of the inner sleeve along with the one or two plays I mentioned.  As such I'm happy to give it 9 /10 also.
The inner sleeve is of the plain variety but is intact with a touch of glue browning due to age.
