Celebrate the legendary roots of Americana with The Original Basement Tape—an exclusive Record Store Day 2015 release from Bob Dylan and His Band The Hawks (later known as The Band).

This official RSD Exclusive Release was limited to just 2,500 hand-numbered copies and features a Garth Hudson hand-stamped autograph on the front. This copy is #2441, presented in a clean white jacket stamped “Dylan The Basement Tape” in bold stencil lettering.

Pressed on 130 Gram Bootleg Black Vinyl, this mono LP restores the original 1967 basement recordings from Big Pink in Saugerties, NY—raw, unvarnished, and essential. Dylan and Hudson originally compiled these 14 tracks as a demo for British music publishers—now finally made available to the public for the first time in this vinyl-only format.

This copy includes:

  • Original white jacket with hand-number and Garth Hudson hand-stamp

  • Blue paper obi-style wrapper with Columbia, Legacy, OPM, and Redeye logos

  • Pink gatefold insert: reprint of the June 22, 1968 Rolling Stone article, “The Missing Bob Dylan Album”

  • Replica “Emidisc” labels (no commercial logos—styled like blank acetate)

  • Inner white sleeve
