Description
ORIGINAL Homestead Records copy of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds 2nd LP "The Firstborn Is Dead" f(referencing the stillborn twin of Elvis Presley) from 1985. The cover is still in the shrink, and the vinyl is EXCELLENT (we have listened to it, great album sounds wonderful). With Blixa Bargeld, Mick Harvey, and Barry Adamson backing him up, this album rocks as Nick is still riding the line between his new solo/Bad Seeds work and his earlier awesome work with the legendary punk band The Birthday Party, this album flat out rocks. This copy is an early press from Homestead Records with the light blue label and a cover from Canada. It still has the shrink wrap on it, though it is a bit torn at the top, and has good corners, edges, a very legible label, and NO SPLITTING. It does have a small dot stain mid bottom edge. The vinyl is clean, shiny, and colorful, with NO SCRATCHES, and has been, as I mentioned, happily play tested. This is a somewhat scarce pressing, very early but I can't quite determine if it is a first, it is a Homestead label, but also mentions Mute, though there is nothing in the dead wax that would declare it a later Mute pressing, so...GREAT COPY, don't miss it, we've sold LOTS of Nick Cave as we've been collecting him for years. This early Nick Cave may not last long! Thanks for looking in our store. If you haven't shopped with us before, check out our feedback to see you can buy here with confidence. It is always important to READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION and VIEW ALL PHOTOS. We've been selling on eBay for awhile now, having stopped for a slew of surgeries and now retired from employment because of it. So, we're opening up a record store where it will be easier for me to stay active with my issues, and all proceeds from sales of our (mostly rare / scarce) vinyl goes towards making our store a reality (building records racks now, and our CD racks are full!). I post here as often as I can, please message if you're looking for something in particular. WE MAIL UNTO OTHERS AS WE WOULD HAVE THEM MAIL TO US! This will be by Media Mail, which is a bit slower but allows us to ship all US vinyl purchases FREE! We use official LP mailers with the record outside the cover, and in clean white sleeves separately from any photo inner sleeves. All vinyl is cleaned with an enzyme spray then finished with a SpinClean Machine. With sealed vinyl, please understand that we will only accept returns if the LP is still sealed, which is for our financial protection as well as yours. To all our regulars, its good to be back and we look forward to hearing from you. If you ever see wrong information in our listings, let us know, we love the trivia and always strive to be accurate. Thanks for looking, and good luck on your search for amazing music. Greg and Michelle Mitchell
