Description
For auction is a rare and all round excellent condition 1st U.K. press of Nick Drake’s second album Bryter Layter from 1970 on the Island label.
Matrices A-1U, B-1U.
Original Ernest Day textured sleeve is in really excellent condition with a fully intact and readable spine and scarcely any wear marks. No writing or tears. Rare to see copies in such condition.
Original blue Island inner sleeve- these are so often missing- Is here present and in great condition.
Record itself in normal daylight is clean with a bright sheen. Under direct bright household light there are some minor scuffs and hairlines visible, but these do not affect the playback.
Labels clean and unmarked. There is one anomaly regarding the labels. The side one label is on side two of the record, and vice versa. Be aware when playing.
Play test showed superb clear sound, with no clicks, sticks skips or jumps. Occasional very light crackle on first track but remainder of the album is without any issue.
Here is a chance to own a super copy of a very rare and desirable album. Suitable for avid Drake fans or for serious record collectors.
