Nico ~ Chelsea Girl
Verve V-5032          


1967 US mono first pressing of Nico's debut solo LP, featuring several songwriting and instrumental contributions from Jackson Browne and the VU trio of Lou Reed, John Cale and Sterling Morrison, plus covers of Bob Dylan and Tim Hardin songs.

This copy is a deep groove pressing (has the circular groove running beneath the label), which is not the case on all Verve pressings of this LP. This copy also has an oddity on the label - the song 'These Days' is titled 'I've Been Out Walking', which is of course the first line of the song. I've seen other copies with the correct title, so it's likely only the earliest pressings have this label error. The cover has the correct title.

Condition
Record: The playing surfaces on both sides are clean with only a few light scuff lines. Both labels are also clean. Sound quality is superb throughout, clear and crisp with only occasional, soft surface noise audible.
Grade: EXCELLENT

Cover: Has some light shelf wear, corner wear and some seam flaking/rubbing, but there are no splits. There is a small area of ringwear at the front/bottom. There are two deletion marks - a drill hole in one corner and an X heat stamp in another.
Grade: VG+

The original Verve inner is also included, and miraculously this has no seam splits (I'll ship the record in a plain inner to preserve this of course).
