Description

Here's an original UK 1971 STERO PRESSING of NICO'S LP CHELSEA GIRL.  A very rare LP, and especially in a UK pressing.  This copy was pressed in 1971 in England.  The first US pressings were earlier, released originally in 1967, but the first UK pressings were in 1971.  She was Rock's chanteuse in the late 60's, playing with The Velvet Underground, and playing around with many in the scene.  Her career was incredible starting with a role in Fellini's La Dolce Vita in 1959. She was introduced to Warhol by Brian Jones of the Stones, and Warhol insisted she sing lead on 3 songs of the Debut Velvet Underground LP including the great All Tomorrow's Parties.  She was hanging out with Dylan, and Jim Morrison, and wound up performing with Brian Eno, Phil Manzenara, and Kevin Ayers of Roxy Music. She only released a few LP's and they didn't sell well so they are incredibly rare today.  This LP is hauntingly beautiful.

This copy is very nice.  The cover is perfect with only the most minor ring wear on the back cover.  The vinyl has light overall surface sounds that keep this copy from perfection.  There are no pops, jumps or skips, and the surface sounds are much lower than the music volume.
