Description

Nicolai Malko leads the Philharmonia Orchestra in this quite fine performance of Prokofieff's Symphony #1, "Classical". Malko has been a favorite conductor of mine for quite some time; his performances always sound very musically 'right' and this is no exception. He leads the Philharmonia with the proper requisite humor and charm. Recorded in the mid-1950's, this is one of the earliest commercially issued stereo recordings made in England. Box and tape are in good condition for their age: Box has minor age-related smudging and one small seam split on the back of the box; the reel looks perfect. The tape, which is stored TAILS OUT on the reel, plays beautifully on my Revox B-77 deck. Overall an excellent of this rarity. Packing, USPS FIRST CLASS shipping and insurance are a flat $5 to domestic U.S. destinations. Priority mailing on request. International destinations will cost more.
