Description
Very rare 1958 Bethlehem Records, original mono pressing of Nina Simone's amazing debut album, the beginning of a legend. Gorgeous analog sound for this immortal classic on heavyweight 50s deep groove vinyl, miles better than any modern vinyl reissues or digital versions.
VPI cleaned and play graded, the record plays VG to VG+. The 1st side is a solid VG+, plays very clean, beautiful sound, but the 2nd side unfortunately has a few random instances of light distortion on some high-pitched parts. There are no major visible marks, so I can only assume its an original pressing flaw that's always been there. However, it doesn't distract from the listening experience all too much, still plays really good overall (especially for an almost 60 year-old record!)
The cover is G+ to VG, a fair amount of general shelf wear, edge wear, and some smudging of the glossy front cover. The top spine looks like it had a large split that has been discreetly fixed with tape (not all that noticeable). Again, still looks pretty good for its age.
