GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : le belle musiche sinfoniche di Rota con Gino Marinuzzi Jr. come eccellente direttore d’orchestra, in alcuni casi sono precedute, intervallate o concluse dai rumori di due motociclette Honda. A volte somigliano al ritmo silenzioso della pioggia che scivola sulla strada, a volte emettono rimbombi più consistemti. E questo apparentemente bizzarro accostamento fra melodia e motori non danneggia l’ascolto ma a mio modesto avviso lo rende avvincente e romantico. In aggiunta alla musica e ai rumori delle motociclette spesso si uniscono voci, dialoghi o monologhi in Inglese dal film. Sono quasi sempre a bassa voce o addirittura bisbigliati come avvolti in un alone di mistero. Esce da questi canoni "Pari no betsuri" (a2) che dopo una partenza di natura classica lascia spazio a sassofono, tromba, basso e batteria per un vivace brano con atmosfere da locale notturno. Al suo opposto "Sasuraibito no uta" (b3), cantilena mistica a più voci che evoca magia ed esoterismo.

Notes : Rota’s beautiful symphonic score well conducted by Gino Marinuzzi Jr. in certain cases are preceded, interrupted or concluded by the noises of two Honda motorcycles. Sometimes they sound like silent rain sliding on the road, sometimes emit deeper rumbles. And this seemingly bizarre combination beetwen melody and motors does not damage listening but in my humble opinion makes it engaging and romantic. In addition to the music and noises of motorcycles often join voices, dialogues or monologues in English from the movie. They are almost always in a low voice or even just scarcely murmured as shrouded in an aura of mystery. Outside these canons "Pari no betsuri" (a2) that after a start of classic nature leaves room for sax, trumpet, bass and drums playing a lively tune from nightclub atmospheres. At its opposite "Sasuraibito no uta" (b3) mystical glee evoking magic and esotericism.
