Rare, original 1989 UK Pressing on Tupelo (TUP EP8)
High-grade copies of this iconic grunge release are very hard-to-find now and this copy is in fantastic condition!
For sale is Nirvana's, 4-track EP "Blew", released, only in the UK, in 1989. This is the original and official UK release 12" vinyl version, catalogue no. TUPEP8. These are now increasingly rare and hard-to-find.
Official vinyl copies of this, 4-track, 12" EP were pressed only on black vinyl, limited to 3000 copies and released exclusively in the UK. All other versions are unofficial or bootleg releases.
Songs
"Blew" was written in 1988 by Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain. The song was recorded in December 1988 and initially appeared as the first track on Nirvana's 1989 debut album Bleach. Blew remained one of the only songs from the Bleach era that remained on Nirvana's live set list throughout their entire performance history. Even on the band's final show on March 1st, 1994 in Munich, Germany, it was performed during the encore, giving it the distinction of being the second to last song ever performed by the band. In addition to the song "Blew", the release also includes "Love Buzz". This mix of "Love Buzz" is the Bleach version, as opposed to the 7" Sub Pop Singles version mix. The version of "Been a Son" that was recorded for the EP is hailed as the "definitive take" of that song as it encompasses Nirvana's thrashing signature sound as well as Krist Novoselic's bass guitar solo being much more pronounced in the mix.[2] "Stain" features both dual vocal and dual guitar tracks.[2]
Release
Blew was released in December 1989 on Tupelo Records on 12" vinyl and compact disc. The extended play was originally intended to be released to promote an upcoming European tour, but this plan was scrapped, and the maxi-single ended up being released exclusively in the UK shortly after its completion.
As a UK-only release, "Blew" was thus difficult to obtain elsewhere. Only 3,000 copies of the maxi-single were pressed on 12" vinyl and CD. Both vinyl and CD counterfeit copies exist, of which the vinyl copies vary in colour. The official 12" vinyl was pressed only on black vinyl.

Vinyl:
Visual condition: The disc is in superb condition; clean and shiny, with no scuffs or scratches and only one or two very faint surface marks, from inner-sleeve wear.
Audible condition: Sound is bright and clear with no pops or clicks at all and no distortion or background noise, even between tracks.
Sleeve:
Condition: The sleeve is in excellent condition - stiff and flat, with no tears or splits, square corners, undamaged edges and a rigid spine, with all text clearly visible. Shows only minor wear for it's age (28 years), a few, small, marks and creases and one tiny ding to top-left corner (see pictures)
