NIRVANA - LOCAL ANAESTHETIC
A solid very good condition copy of this 1970 UK very 1st press prog gem with impressive sound quality throughout
Year/Label : UK VERTIGO Swirl 1971
Label number : 6360 031
Matrix numbers : 6360031 1Y//1 / 6360031 2Y//1
Stampers : 1 1 1 / 1 1 1
Rare and highly sought after 1971 UK 1st press prog gem from the original UK Nirvana line-up. Gleaming, excellent (EX) - at least - condition vinyl retaining a jet black sheen which in normal daylight comes across as completely unmarked. Close inspection under a bright light reveals just a few extremely faint, wispy surface hairlines and faint paper scuffs (slightly more so on side 2 where - if you look very closely under a bright light - you can also just detect an extremely faint 7mm purely surface only scuff mark on B4...nothing really) but nothing feelable or below the surface and all appearing to be superficial. Each label is near mint (NM) with all text and the iconic large Vertigo swirl remaining perfectly intact - completely unmarked with not even the usual one or two faint spindle trails. Clearly this is a record that has been sparingly played. The iconic non-laminated original gatefold outer sleeve is in excellent plus (EX+) condition with firm edges including a rigid spine, near perfectly defined right angled corners still with absolutely minimal rubbing, no creasing, and all colours, art work, text (including the spine text), and photos remain beautifully intact with rich vibrancy and great definition. The only blemishes (each very minor) are a little mild scuffing on the bottom reverse side edge towards the corners, 8mm of light scuffing on the reverse side edge adjacent to the spine top corner, and a few very minor spots/abrasions towards the bottom front edge on the inside of the gatefold (see photo). Excellent plus (EX+) sound quality with no skips, repeats, jumps, or distortion, and any background crackle is at an absolute minimum...just some very minor background crackle accompanied by a few very light background clicks towards the beginning of B2 (though I could detect no reason for this) - not intrusive. Excellent tone with crystal clear vocals and instrumentation and every track a great listen. Comes complete with original and excellent plus (EX+) condition poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve, correctly dated with no side splits, tears or creasing - just the hint of a little mild age discolouration discolouration towards the edges.
These UK 1st pressings are becoming more difficult to find now, especially in condition as truly impressive as this - a centerpiece addition to any serious progressive rock vinyl collection!
POSTAGE COSTS :
For the UK £9 using Royal Mail Special Delivery;
for continental Europe £14 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked/signed for,
and for the rest of the world £20 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked/signed for.
I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.
Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 54 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
